Refund Policy
Unless otherwise stated in the class description, if you wish to drop a class you must do so no later than five business days before the first class session to receive a refund. After that time, no refunds will be issued. Unfortunately, we are unable to issue refunds or credit due to missed classes. No refunds will be given after the class has ended. Payments for course materials, supplies, or textbooks are non-refundable. To drop a class, please call (309) 268-8160.Age Appropriate Guidelines
Ages and dates for each class vary. For Summer classes, select classes based on the grade the student will enter in the Fall. To ensure a successful classroom experience, all children must be fully toilet trained before enrolling in K@H classes.
Behavior Policy
All students are expected to maintain appropriate and respectful behavior while attending Kids@Heartland classes. If a child is disruptive, disrespectful, or inappropriate, or jeopardizes the safety of others and staff intervention fails to yield results, parents will be contacted. If the behavior continues, staff reserves the right to dismiss the student from class without a refund.Accommodations
In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Amendments, Continuing Education at Heartland Community College makes every effort to provide reasonable accommodations to qualifying students with disabilities. Participants in need of reasonable accommodations may identify so on the registration form and will be communicated with regarding the request process. In order to provide adequate time to obtain documentation and arrange for reasonable accommodations, it is highly recommended that requests are submitted 3 weeks prior to the class start date. Requests submitted after this point will still be accepted and given full consideration, but may not be in place during the limited duration of the enrichment program.Students enrolled in a Kids@Heartland class should demonstrate independence, motivation, and the ability to handle changes in routine. Personal services such as restroom assistance, support with mobility around campus, eating, or direct one-to-one supervision are not provided as part of the program. If your child needs any of these supports, please reach out to the Kids@Heartland program as soon as possible to discuss options. Accommodations are not considered reasonable if they pose a serious health or safety risk, or significantly alter the intent of the enrichment program.
